Junction strategy
Use the same sequence at every junction: slow, observe, decide, move.
Memorizing roads alone is not enough. Scores are separated by observation workflow, speed control, junction decisions and hazard anticipation.
| Centre | Road characteristics | Training focus |
|---|---|---|
| New Kwun Tong Driving Test Centre | Dense commercial traffic, many junctions, fast lane-transition rhythm. | Earlier blind-spot checks and planning before lane changes. |
| Sha Tin Driving Test Centre | Mix of residential roads and arterial routes with frequent speed transitions. | Maintain smooth throttle/brake control to avoid speed fluctuations. |
| Happy Valley Driving Test Centre | More turns and narrower lanes requiring precise road positioning. | Balance speed and lane position, anticipate pedestrians and traffic before bends. |
Routes may change by examiner arrangement, road works or traffic conditions. Follow test-day instructions.
Use the same sequence at every junction: slow, observe, decide, move.
Plan 5-8 seconds ahead to avoid last-second forced lane changes.
Train in mock-test rhythm so exam day feels like a normal lesson.
